I'm taking a 1VAC signal from a clip-on ammeter (coil) and want to convert it 1-5V for arduino input. I hooked this thing up per the first diagram with 10Vdc to the two top pins (+VCC -VEE) - and no other wires - and it tanked my power supply and drew about 1.9 amps. Tried it again starting at 3vdc and same thing - drew signifiant amps and the voltage on the bench top power supply dropped.

    what am I doin wrong?

I am no EE. I barely know inverting vs inverting. just want a hookup guide so that I can measure amperage on some power panels and do data logging.
