    By the video, we can control which LEDs to be turned on or off. But with all that going, can we add potentiometer to control the LEDs' brightness?

    Or is it exclusively applicable for binary output?

      Maybe try a transistor in between gnd and the led gnd pins.

    You can just leave the clock enabled, saving you another pin!
