This class is our very popular course that teaches SMD Stencil soldering to anyone looking to take the next step after learning regular SMD. This will be a hands- on class where the students learn techniques to help them use a solder stencil to solder surface mount components. There is a minimum age requirement of 15 years old, and it is highly recommended that you have a strong background in soldering, as basic soldering skills will not be covered. It is also highly recommended that you be comfortable with soldering, although you don’t need to be an expert.
This class will tentatively be live streamed for those of you who cannot attend! This is a free service.
Materials included in this class are:
Prerequisites: Plated Though Hole Soldering (Intro to Soldering) or equivalent. This class also requires participants have the physical dexterity to hold a soldering iron (equivalent of a heavy pencil) and solder (thin wire) steady with both hands and tweezers. Ages 16 and up. Must have PTH soldering experience.
What to bring: You may want to bring a bite to eat. SparkFun will provide all the tools, irons and solder.
